About Washington Crossing
A small village located along the banks of the Delaware River, Washington Crossing is most famously-known as the site of George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas Day during the Revolutionary War. Re-enactments of this event can be seen every year on Christmas Day, and a memorial to the crossing can be found within the town. Although small, the community has been named a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
